Aiguille Du Midi and The Vallée Blanche
The Aiguille du Midi is the starting point for the world’s longest and most famous off-piste ski descent, the Vallée Blanche.
And, incredibly, you do not have to be a particularly experienced mountaineer to do it.
The epic glacial ski route is 17kms long. It takes you from an altitude of 3841m all the way back to Chamonix at 1048m through the most awe-inspiring scenery. To reach the Aiguille du Midi you are whisked up the mountain in two stunning gondola rides, the first of which goes from a lift station in town, just a few hundred metres from our chalets The Castle and Belle Cachette.
The Vallée Blanche is within easy reach of an adventurous intermediate skier or snowboarder. If you are comfortable on a black run and you are fit enough to take on a full days’ skiing/boarding then it is the 'must do' run of Chamonix.
We can book experienced UIAGM Mountain Guides, which is highly recommended, for safety and to guarantee it will be one of THE most incredible days on the mountain you will ever have.
People return year after year to see the ever-changing glacier and ski or snowboard the many different variants of this most famous of ski runs.
